People's Park Market, Dún Laoghaire

Last Sunday, I met my good friend E. and we went for a walk along Dún Laoghaire's Pier. Whenever we meet we always say we're doing the 'Art of Living', as there is always some food or drinks involved.

Every Sunday from 11 am to 4pm there is a market in People's Park in Dún Laoghaire and I absolutely love it!

There are some fantastic Irish food producers there every week so you can buy everything you need. I love Organic Delights' fruit and veg stall, everything looks so colourful and fresh.

Cheese, meat, fish, apple juices and more are sold at the many stalls scattered around the park.

I think it's my favourite market in Dublin and I love visiting it at lunch time. The park is quite spacious you can sit on the grass, relax on one of the benches or eat your food at one of the picnic tables.

There are so many food stalls to chose from that it's difficult to decide on what to eat. To start, E. and I had some cheese and onion twists from One in the Oven.

Then, E. had a prawn skewer and I had some pork dumplings from an Asian food stall. You can get 5 dumplings for €3 and they're very filling, not the healthiest but they're tasty and certainly warm you up.

E. couldn't resist the falafel wrap, I don't know the name of the stall but it's the one with the blue banner (there are 2 falafel stalls at the market).

It was a bit cold outside so I went for a comforting Nutella and Banana crepe from Crepes in the City.

I also bought a few chocolate truffles from the fabulous Truffle Fairy. They have unusual flavour combinations like the delicious Tequila salt lemon or cardamon orange truffle. They also sell brownies and fudge.

We were sad to be full at that stage because there were many more things we could have eaten. Like the spit roast pork or spuds from The Goode Life.

You have plenty of ethnic food stalls for something different or spicy if you fancy.

You also might end up in a sugar coma if you're sweet toothed, as there are plenty of stalls selling baked goods.

Finally, it's not only about food, you'll find a few other stalls selling art works, flowers, books, etc...

The market is busy but there are enough stalls so that you don't have to queue too long for food. Families with children, young couples or tourists, everyone seem to enjoy it. It's definitely a delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
